A repeated hexagonal unit becomes the organising principle for this pendant study. The lattice wraps around the light source rather than concealing it, letting illumination escape through the cells and drawing attention to the shade’s construction.
Close views explore the thickness and junctions of the repeated elements; wider compositions test the same language across several suspended shades. The concept was developed as a response to David Trubridge’s approach to open lighting structures within the Organicism investigation. Its focus is the relationship between a simple repeatable part and the richer surface that emerges when that part is assembled into a curved volume.
