Undulation begins with the relationship between two contrasting forms: a smooth sphere and a rippling support built from repeated sections. The timber surface rises at the edges and falls around the light, framing the luminous centre without fully enclosing it. Its parallel ribs make the underlying curvature legible, turning a digital surface into a sequence of visible contours.
The paired renders test the balance between the central globe and the surrounding wave from different viewpoints. Developed through the Organicism project’s investigation of parametric flow, this is a formal lighting study focused on proportion, repetition and the transition between a solid object and an open supporting structure.
